The concept of the un project started from a pot- luck restaurant idea. every traditional korea potluck table is arranged according to a strict dia- gram, where the main dishes stand in a row down the length of the black rectangular table. the dishes are arranged in a very specific way on the table.
first, the main dishes stand in a row down the middle of the table. second, the side dishes line the main courses on both sides. final- ly, individual servings of rice, soup, and sauce run the edge of the table. the restaurant is buffet style. the food is presented on the central row of tables cprresponding in location to where the main dishes stand on the korean potluck table. since the idea was inspired by the korean traditional dining table, the plan of a traditional palace was an inspiration for the design of the building.
Project description:
Featuring four distinctive, doorman-attended residences situated in desirable Northwest Tribeca.
It fluidly combines contemporary, classic and industrial aesthetics creating a timeless addition to its Tribeca neighborhood. Framed within an iconic steel exoskeleton, the century-old brick façade transitions to the intoxicatingly modern interiors.
No detail has been overlooked with the meticulously curated, authentic, indigenous and exotic finishes, materials and fixtures. The residences exude luxury with white carrera marble, shinnoki shadow macassar custom wood cabinetry, quarter-cut and rift sawn white oak hardwood floors, argon-insulated double-pane windows, artisanal polished chrome hardware fittings and natural finish cedar terraces.
The building proudly features hundred-year-old brick in the lobby and exterior facade. Together, these details indelibly raise the living experience.
From the southern, eastern and western exposures, It has some of Tribeca’s most cinematic views. Here you can treat yourself to sunset river views of the Hudson, rooftop cityscapes of lower Manhattan and the majestic elegance of the eastern sunrise.
Manhattan’s most desirable neighborhood is also its most charming. Tribeca is a picturesque enclave of cobblestone streets and historic architecture that is home to renowned cafes, top-tier schools and quaint parks – all just steps from the city’s best dining, shopping and entertainment.
